When we sit down and sew /7:00 AM
I'm really glad that Luke's been around...
Although he's heavy and his hair keeps falling off his head. Bleh!
For the past few days/weeks I've been lugging him over to my grandparents house with a bag of scraps to put together a few clothes for him. So far I'm still at the basics, and I haven't gotten past three pieces of clothes. However, I do like sitting out in the garden with grandma and the sewing machine, and Luke (who just sits there to hold the tacking needle and unpicker or I'll misplace them). It's quite lovely because there's a park nearby and you hear birds in the morning. Then it rains and the weather is cool. Grandma will have one sided conversations with Luke. Something like:
Grandma: See, you're so lucky. She doesn't make clothes for herself but she makes them for you.
Me: Yah lah Luke, this is all your fault.
Grandma: (turns to Luke and gives him a pat) Poor thing. She wants to make them and she scolds you.
Luke:... (obviously he can't say anything XP)Oh well, who wants to make clothes when you can buy them.
But still, I never thought I'd been spending time with my grandma and grandpa this holidays. I have lunch over with them. ^o^ It makes me very happy!
It's also fun to get him to pose when I draw.
You might think this is dumb, but I've never used a human model is my own art sessions. The people and things I draw come out of my imagination.(The only time I really ever did was in NAFA, when my classmate posed for 15mins then gave up because he was so tired but Luke can't ever get tired. Wahahaha.) Once what I drew only looked right when I remembered right. And if it looked wrong... that meant... er... haha.
Not that he's human, but having him around is wonderful, because my drawings have actually changed. He allows me a better grasp of perspective, space, anatomy and shades (which is something I have neglected since it's hard to picture light in my imagination). He's not as good as a real human model in many ways... his muscles cannot be flexed, his balance cannot be compared with that of a person's, and his facial expression is fixed. But then again, he can do many things that humans can't... to shut up and sit quietly in ridiculous poses for insane lengths of time. And he's so pretty too. ~^-^~
Of course... I don't change clothes in my room anymore because it feels odd when he's sitting there staring up with his pretty blue eyes which can't actually see. I guess because he looks human enough and I won't do that in front of a... human guy. Ucky!
But all in all, I'm really glad that Luke's been around!
In many ways, you could say, he's helped me.
