Two seconds /7:52 AM
Two seconds to thinkThis was something I wrote long ago... I'm just in the mood to post it up today...Nell realised how much Santos had changed sinceshe first met him. Then, he had been so harsh and cold... and maybe selfish. His deep purple eyes would glare and his white tresses enhanced the cold steel aura about him. Now, it was all different. His eyes reminded Nell of pleansant violets growing off abandoned streets in Alberta, and his snowy hair made him look so pure. Nell wondered why... When did the changes start? They had come so gradually that she hadn't noticed it at all.
They came to a shady area where a few gravestones stood, of which one belonged to Fortune. Nell squatted down and Santos brought the lantern over the epithat.
Remember me when you hear the wind singing
When the grass grows green
When the sun is high
Remember where true fortune lies
In simples joys below the skies
Remember me
Rest In Peace
Fortune Lansky
Nell traced the words of the poem. She wondered if Fortune had written it. Her fingers came into contact with the cold cracks of white marble... it had been so long since she had last seen him. Then there was that picture Nell had seen in Madam Lansky's chamber, the picture probably placed there as it fitted the quote so well. Fortune standing in the grass with his hair pushed back by a breeze, smiling. Simple joys below the sky huh? Nell thought about it. Seemed like Fortune spent his life doing things he liked... singing, playing his guitar, slacking... and helping others. That would count as simple joys wouldn't it.
The more Nell thought about itm the more Nell wished to be happy.
Don't we all wish the same?
