Cows go Home! /4:15 AM
I just revamped the blog! Oh now it has all the pretty colours that I like *Thumbs up*. Only that the words are kinda moot and emotional *Thumbs detatch o.o*. Sometimes its so hard to find a optimistic blogskin without it being over-cheery, so I have to make do with something that is a tad darker. Sorry folks, I'm not the emo kind so even if you hear a sad mournful tune tinkling in the background, well that's because I like the melody. If I had broken wings I'd rush over some glue and stick back the feathers. Okay, I haven't yet done my advertising for my trip to Laos have I? It's a lovely place you know. The air is cool and relatively dry in the mountainous regions. The mountains are the kind of limestone mountains, stripey irregularly shaped, like clumps of coral rolled over with trees that grow horizontally due to the sheer steepness. Yes, the moutains are scarily steep, very lovely and postcard pretty, but for your own safety please do not try climbing them!
The cows walk to their feeding grounds in the morning on their own, then they return in the evening. Very cute, since I have a penchant for animals that go 'moo'.
The village there is rather impoverished. There are animals running all around the sand pits: dogs, chickens, ducks, pigs and even a MONKEY! It came to disturb us during lunch. o.o Well, the classrooms are terribly dusty and some students don't have chairs. The kids are packed about sixty into a classroom, dressed in sand-covered and sometimes torn uniforms! Some run about barefooted too! I taught them a little of this and that, English for instance, and some origami. But the little ones are very sweet and curious. I love the shy ones >.<. Hee!
Also, the hygeine in the village is very poor. Well, there are animals running in and about and everywhere. My father who was there to do dental work had to keep the medical needles and bloodstained objects in another bag to be disposed somewhere else to prevent cross infection. That is because the villagers tend to search the rubbish for things they can sell off. :( It's really very sad to look at.
So I am not telling you these things to frighten you off. Please come and help these people! If you have any skills to offer, please let me know. Sign up for missions and spread God's love ya? Now I have to go since my sis would like to use the computer.
Cheerio.
